How Gargantua compares
Gargantua tracks the subscriptions you pay for elsewhere. If you are weighing it against another app, this is where it fits.
Coming from Bobby
Bobby is the long-standing iPhone subscription tracker. Here is what Gargantua does differently, and what the two have in common.
What actually matters in a subscription tracker
Most of these apps can store a name, a price and a renewal date. The differences show up in the details:
- Currencies. If you pay for things in more than one currency, does the app add them into a single misleading total, or keep them separate? Gargantua keeps them separate.
- Warning time. One reminder the day before a renewal is often too late to do anything. Gargantua lets you set a first and a second reminder per subscription.
- Where the data lives. Gargantua stores your subscription data locally on device, with optional iCloud sync across your Apple devices.
- What the paid tier costs you.Gargantua's paid tier, Infinite, is a one-time purchase rather than another recurring charge — which matters more than usual in an app whose whole job is reducing recurring charges.
